A day to explore the wonderful variety of fungi on the Wild West Coast!

Autumn is upon us and with it comes the meaty, medicinal, mystical and maddening mushrooms. The allure of the mushroom in our Southern Vancouver Island rain forest climes captivates our deepest animal impulses. When on the hunt, the crazed ‘mushroom eyes’ kick in—the body becomes enveloped by an extra-sensory perception of sorts. Perhaps it is an invisible whiff of a cloud of spores on the air that alerts us to our moss-concealed cousins of the Fungi Kingdom. Whatever one may call it, this ‘mushroom craze’ may be felt as a benign form of madness.

Join 3 Fun Guys, Dante GreenMan Adventures, Tom Nature’s Chef and Mushroom Steve for a day of ‘mushroom fever’. We will be combining our knowledge and skills in identifying, gathering, growing and eating our kin in the mushroom kingdom.

Learn the best local varieties, medicinal conks, growing and processing techniques and even how to dye clothing or keep a fire burning. When we are finished the workshop, there will be some fungi delectables including ales and delicious dishes served up to satisfy your hunger and thirst.

The workshop is a mere $60 for a lifetime of experience, knowledge and a hearty lunch thrown in for good measure. We will cap this workshop at 20, so get a golden ticket while you can.
